Kazakhtelecom (Astana), the listed company of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided to KASE the press release where informs that within the conference "Telecommunications - an open field", held on April 7, 2009 in Almaty, Kazakhtelecom Chief Commercial Director Askar Eserkegenov emphasized results of the KazNet stimulation policy, more exactly significant increase of the internal traffic portion. In the conference participated representatives of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Informatization and Telecommunications, top managers of leading telecommunications operators, public organizations and mass media, reported the press-centre of KASE.

At the round table meeting representatives of government bodies, public organizations and business structures discussed telecommunications development perspectives. Speakers focused on such issues as the influence of the world telecommunications market, introduction of 3G in Kazakhstan, perspectives of the mobile content and Internet in Kazakhstan, development of a broad banded Internet status of the KazNet from the technical provision standpoint, accessibility for the population and development of website design.

"In March 2008 the internal traffic made up not more than 19%. Today the portion of internal incoming traffic, generated by "Megaline" service subscribers exceeds the external and makes up 59.1% (as of March 2009). The external traffic - 40.9%, - said Askar Eserkegenov.

Also at the conference Kazakhtelecom informed on plans on promotion and development of new hosting services under the ID Host brand. Internet Data centers in Almaty and Astana already allow provision of hosting services in Kazakhstan on beneficial and accessible terms. The company also plans to provide the special tariff plan "ID Free", which will allow free creation of
resources in the volume up to 100 Mb.
