Pulkovo Airport Starts Regular Flights to Kostomuksha
OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 April 2009 was announced, that Region-Avia airline started regular air communication on the route Kostomuksha – Petrozavodsk – Saint Petersburg – Petrozavodsk – Kostomuksha. The flight is scheduled 3 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on An-28 aircraft (17 seats). Departure from Kostomuksha – 9 a.m., arrival to Saint-Petersburg – 1 p.m. Return flight: departure – 1.40 p.m., arrival – 5.45 p.m.
Kostomuksha is situated in the North of West-Karelian height, 483 km from Petrozavodsk. The town was founded on April 25, 1983 on the spot of iron-ore deposit. Key business for the town economics are JSC “Karelskiy okatysh” (production of iron ore), Sweedwood (woodworking), AEK (electricals’ supplies for Volvo, Scania, Nokia, Wacon…).
Region-Avia airline was founded in 2005. It is the first feeder regional airline, performing regular passenger flights in Russia. The fleet consists of 8 Embraer-120ER aircrafts and 8 Аn-28 aircrafts. Region-Avia is based in Moscow airports Domodedovo and Bykovo.
