OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 April 2009 was announced, that employees of CJSC GAZEKS provided uninterrupted gas supply to industrials and households in 52 municipal units of the Sverdlovsk Region.

"Results of GAZEKS Holding enterprises performance (part of CJSC Integrated Energy Systems) in the Sverdlovsk Region in autumn - winter period I estimate as good - Director of GAZEKS Holding Denis PASLER says - Since October 2008 till April 2009 there have no been any accidents or emergences through the fault of gas operators."

For six months specialists of exterior network services of OJSC Ural Gas Networks have revealed 369 gas leakages from pipes and from gas supply facilities. All the leakages were liquidated within the shortest terms. Major efforts were made for reconstruction of damaged polyethylene gas pipe line in Krasnoturiinsk. The high pressure pipe line was damaged in the result of construction works which were not properly coordinated. Major efforts were made also for liquidation of welding defect in a high pressure pipe line in Kachkanar.

Unified emergency operations and dispatching service of OJSC Ural Gas Networks have serviced 4,837 emergency calls of inhabitants of the Sverdlovsk Region, including 1,287 default calls, but in case of gas supply safety issues it is better play safe than to allow occurrence of emergency situations. GAZEKS specialists' advice to inhabitants is to be careful and call 04 if it smells gas.

About 30% of emergency calls are accounted for gas leakages in places of connection of gas pipelines to gas cookers and leakages in gas pipe lines in place of connection of gas pipe line to an apartment or house. That is why it is so important for inhabitants to call timely for the service.

In order to prevent accident threat in January - February, 2009 specialists of OJSC Ural Gas Networks disconnected from gas supply network 117 subscribers which committed flagrant violation of regulations for household use of gas. The subscribers may repeatedly connect to gas supply network after attending special training course.

"Stable operation of gas distribution system in the last autumn - winter period is the result of great efforts of GAZEKS in modernization, reconstruction and maintenance of gas networks and gas supply facilities, - Denis Pasler informs. - Direct investments into safety of gas supply to consumers of the Sverdlovsk Region in 2008 comprised 110 million rubles, excluding costs for personnel training and other costs. We hope that consumers' attitude will be responsible too in terms of compliance with regulations for household use of gas and payments for gas services."
