OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 April 2009 was announced, that inauguration of the sports complex in Turkmenabat (the Lebapski velayat) was held on April 5.

This is the first facility of a social importance constructed by Russian contractors in the past decades. It is also the first of the five facilities being constructed in that country by ITERA Development Group, an ITERA International Group company.

Ten thousand guests is the capacity of the stadium rostrum. They all witnessed a colorful sporting event and an engrossing soccer match.

In addition to the stadium, a sporting center with a swimming pool, halls for combat sports and gymnastics, tennis-courts, basketball and volleyball playgrounds and other open playgrounds, as well as a hotel, a coffee shop and a parking are located there on 17.5 ha of the modern sports complex.

Igor Makarov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITERA International Group of Companies, when addressing the festivity, pointed out that "the construction of the sporting complex adumbrated a new working stage of ITERA in Turkmenistan, which ITERA used to cooperate fruitfully with in oil and gas industries for many years".

Khydyr Saparlyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Yagshymyrat Yaiylov, khyakim of the Lebapski velayat, Alexei Demin, Charge d'affaires ad interim the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan, heads of a number of ministries participated in the sports complex inauguration ceremony.

ITERA Development Group is constructing a hotel complex in Avaza resort zone in the Caspian Sea shore, an office centre in Ashgabad, sets about constructing two hippodromes in the Balkan velayat and the Lebapski velayat in Turkmenistan.
