Vasiliy Shevchenko was accompanied through the building site and town by Gennadiy Esaulov, the director of INTERPIPE STEEL, Giacomo Mareschi, site manager and Petr Pavlenko, the chairman of the Trade Union.
On evaluation of the site, Vasiliy Shevchenko said: “Everything I’ve seen has pleasantly surprised me. INTERPIPE has shown capability in building modern and highly efficient mills. Labor protection and standards of staff environment at the site are of the highest levels. It’s encouraging to see that orders for hardware are still being placed at Ukrainian mills, providing Ukrainian staff with constant work during this challenging economic climate.”
Vasiliy Shevchenko also commended INTERPIPE’s level of cooperation with the Trade Union: “In spite of the difficult situation facing all metallurgical companies now, we continue to work constructively with INTERPIPE. Today, mills and trade unions have a common goal – to survive despite crisis and preserve production.”
