OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 April 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ international reserves, based on the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) methodology, went up 29.2% in January-March to U.S. USD 3.955 billion as of April 1, 2009, according the National Statistics Committee.

As of April 1, foreign currency reserves amounted to USD 3.433 billion, up 31.7% in January-March, the amount of monetary gold reached the equivalent of USD 441.6 million, up 18%, and other assets were at USD 80.8 million, up 0.4%.

Special drawing rights were at USD 100,000 as of April 1, down from USD 1 million on January 1, 2009. Belarus’ IMF reserve position is at USD 0 million, showing no change

In 2008, Belarus’ international reserves went down by USD 1.121 billion. They fell by USD 714.3 million in December alone.
