OREANDA-NEWS. On the night of April 8-9 a section of CAC-4 gas pipeline supplying Turkmen natural gas to Russia was disrupted.

According to Turkmengaz State Concern this disruption was caused by the actions of Russian Gazpromeksport Company which had reduced sharply the volume of piped natural gas without notifying the Turkmen partners.

On this occasion the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan spread the note characterizing the Russian company’s actions as “careless and irresponsible actions posing real threat to the life and health of people and fraught with unpredictable environmental consequences”.

The note says in particular that such behavior of the Russian partners is a blatant violation of the terms of the gas purchase and sale contract.

At present the repair-and-renewal operations are carried out on the disrupted section of the gas pipeline.
