OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2009 was announced, that Dmytro Kiva, General Designer of ANTONOV ASTC and President of Antonov State Aircraft Building Concern, has become a laureat of the 13th national programme PERSON OF THE YEAR in “Industrialist of the Year” nomination. He has awarded this rank for his high professional achievements in 2008, first of all for designing passenger aircraft of AN-148 family. The solemn ceremony of celebration in honour of PERSON OF THE YEAR-2008 programme’s laureates held on March 21, 2009 in “UKRAINA” National Palace of Arts.

PERSON OF THE YEAR programme is one of the most successful national projects. For 13 years its slogan “Lets sacred Prometheus’ flame lightens unconquerable aspiration of a man to reach the high aim!” appeals to go onward overcoming all obstacles.

Candidates for international and special awards of the PERSON OF THE YEAR are well-known personalities of the international repute. Their professional and social activity should be acknowledged by European and world community. They must make personal contribution to develop Ukraine as an independent state, strength its positive image in the world.

Getting the award Dmytro Kiva emphasized: “My efforts are aimed to make all the best to provide the aviation industry of Ukraine with worthy place in the world, and to keep ANTONOV’s leadership in creation of compatible transport and regional passenger aircraft”.
