Gazprom Neft and Leningrad Region Signed Cooperation Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2009 was announced, that JSC Gazprom Neft and the Leningrad Regional Government had signed a general cooperation agreement for 2009-2011.
The agreement provides for expanding the cooperation between the company and the Leningrad Regional Government directed towards economic development, improving the investment climate and stimulating the region’s research and technology industry.
Within the framework of the agreement, Gazprom Neft plans to assist in the implementation of programs for the development of the industry, agriculture, energy, and transportation of the Leningrad region.
“The Leningrad region is an interesting region for Gazpromneft and the company plans to expand its presence here. We are very interested in the social-economic development of the region. Today, an agreement was signed that outlines the general principles and approach to our relationship with the Leningrad Regional Government. This is a region that has an attractive investment climate and we believe in the success of the development of our business in the Leningrad region” – said Alexander Dyukov, the Chairman of the Management Board at JSC Gazprom Neft.
"For us, it is very important that Gazprom Neft, a large oil company in the Russian energy market, is coming to the Leningrad region. This type of agreement facilitates the creation of beneficial conditions for the labor market, and also solves the region’s problems. JSC Gazprom Neft’s presence on the retail market for oil products in the Leningrad region guarantees a high level of service for car owners and will also help create good jobs” - said the Governor of Leningrad Region, Valery Serdyukov.
