OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2009 was announced, that the Head of the Russian Representative Office of AFNOR (Association Francaise de Normalisation) Leonid Dvorkin awarded the company's General Director Vladimir Rashevsky ISO 9001: 2008 Certificate , which confirms the correspondence of the applied quality management system to the international standards.

In the short run we intend to complete the measures relating to development and certification of the integrated management system at the company's enterprises for three international standards - 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, which determine the compliance with the international standards in the field of quality management, environmental and industrial safety. The pilot enterprises to this effect were OAO SUEK - Kuzbass, Kirov mine, Zarechny open pit, dressing-works No. 1 Kirovskaya in Kemerovskaya Region.

During the certificate award ceremony Leonid Dvorkin said:  "The certificate is not an  award, but rather a commitment of the company to comply with the best standards of business process arrangement, to strive for continuous improvement in this area".

According to a representative of the quality senior management, Deputy General Director of SUEK, Strategy and Corporate Development Director Anna Belova, certification in the company's head office completes the first stage of development and implementation of an integrated management system at OAO SUEK. "The experience of certification within the framework of the pilot project at both head office and production enterprises will further be extended to the other SUEK enterprises. To this effect our main objective is to strive for compliance of all SUEK's activities with the best practices, including the global ones", says Ms. Belova.
