OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 April 2009 was announced, that SUEK was one of the leaders in the rating of corporate social responsibility among the Russian companies. The Russian version of the global Accountability Rating program was presented at the National Forum of Corporate Social Responsibility based on the 2008 results.

SUEK shared the honorary 4th position with OAO Russian Railways. Meanwhile, compared to the previous year the company's rating has increased by one point. The other leaders of the rating included OAO Lukoil, OAO Norisk Nickel.

The annual "Rating of Corporate Responsibility" is made up by the International Project Bureau "Business Culture" under a license of the AccountАbility Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability. Based on the data of corporate social reports and other reports of the companies, the experts assess the level of their social responsibility and business transparency. The basis of the methodology is the internationally recognized principles and standards of social responsibility and accountability envisaged by such documents as the United Nations Global Compact, Global Reporting Initiative'?s (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, Standards of the AccountAbility Institute (AA 1000 series).
