OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 April 2009 Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, Nizhni Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), had reported its operating results for February and the first two months of 2009.

In February, VSW manufactured 88,727 tonnes of large-diameter pipes (LDP), which is 46.3% more than in February 2008 (60,627 tonnes). During January-February, LDP output was 153,402 tonnes, which is 40.2% more than in the equivalent period in 2008 (109,420 tonnes).

Total pipe output in February 2009 was 119,441 tonnes, which is 3.3% less than in February 2008 (123,576 tonnes). From the beginning of 2009, VSW produced 215,385 tonnes of pipes of various sizes, which is 4.9% less than in the equivalent period last year (226,455 tonnes).

VSW’s wheel-rolling facilities manufactured 35,208 railroad wheels in February 2009 and 53,850 wheels from the beginning of this year.
