BTA Bank Becomes Member of Russian-Lebanese Business Council
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 02, 2009 BTA Bank, Russia, participated in the organizational meeting of Russian-Lebanese Business Council and was accepted as a member of the Council, reported the press-centre of BTA Bank.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. G. G. Petrov, Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RF CCI), and was addressed by Mr. A. L. Panov, Head of Department of Lebanon and Syria of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.
Being a part of the RF CCI, the Council aims to increase mutual awareness among Russian and Lebanese businessmen of some unexplored opportunities for cooperation. The council also works to assist implementation of existing and future investment projects in Russia, Lebanon and in other countries.
Among the members of the Council are large Russian companies interested in increasing the volume of their economic activities in Lebanon and the Middle East in the fields of construction, infrastructure, engineering, etc.
BTA Bank, Russia, is glad to be representing non-government banking sector in the council and will use this position to promote interbank relationships with Lebanese banks. As it was acknowledged during the meeting, there are vast grounds for cooperation in the field of finance, as the prudent and proficient model of Lebanese banking reveals its stability and success in the midst of the global downturn.
