OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2009. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned all the ministries and departments to pay off arrears of wages for March on the state enterprises by April 10. Yulia Tymoshenko announced during the press conference.

“The Ministers are obliged to solve this issue immediately, debts in payments of salaries on the state enterprises ought to be either decreased significantly or liquidated completely,” the Premier emphasized.

According to her, operative data demonstrate March arrears of wages to the employees of the state enterprises have significantly reduced while on enterprises subordinate to the Ministry of Emergencies, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Ministry of Coal Industry the debt has been covered in full.

At the same time, Yulia Tymoshenko is surprised the arrears of wages are growing on the state enterprises subordinate, in particular, to the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Regional Policy that are staying in similar conditions as the state enterprises of the ministries characterized by the absence of such debts.

“There exist no grounds for the arrears of wages to be growing,” the Head of Government stressed.
