Balance of Credits in Moldova Economy Increased by 0,4%
OREANDA-NEWS. April 07, 2009. The balance of credits in Moldova’s economy increased by 89.4 million lei (0.4%) in February 2009 in comparison with the previous month and totaled 24 billion 275.5 million lei.
According to data of the National Bank of Moldova, this indicator increased due to the growth of the balance of credits in foreign currency expressed in MDL by 115.5 million lei (1.2%) while the balance of credits in lei reduced by 26.1 million lei (0.2%).
The reduction of the balance of MDL credits resulted from the decrease in the balance of credits given to state-run enterprises and private sector by 16.2 million lei (6.1%) and 292.5 million lei (3.3%), respectively. At the same time, the balance of credits given to other organization effecting financial operations as well to individuals rose by 21.3 million lei (2.3%) and 261.3 million lei (5.7%), respectively.
Expressed in dollars, the balance of credits in foreign currency reduced by US1.2 million (0.1%) in February 2009 in comparison with the previous month and totaled US 914 million. The volume of credits provided in lei in February 2009 totaled 803.2 million lei, up 292.9 million lei (57.4%) in comparison with the previous month.
The amount of credits given in February 2009 in foreign currency to legal entities totaled 514.6 million lei (the equivalent of US 48.7 million), up US 14.5 million against the previous month’s indicators.
