OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 April 2009 was announced, that according to the results of Electric power and capacity exchange auction with the supply in January, February, and March of 2009 Irkutskenergosbyt, JSC took the first place in the rating of participants concerning the results of the first quarter of the present year being ahead of Tyumen Power Selling Company, JSC and Volgaenergo, JSC.

The rating was calculated by the auction organizer – electric power commodity exchange Arena. Exchange Arena is a part of uncommercial partnership Market Advice and is an official trading floor of Russia. Electric power and capacity exchange auctions were organized in accordance with the Regulation of the Russian Federation Government for the purpose to set market prices at Russian electric power market.

Starting the trading with the participation of electric power (capacity) wholesale market agents, the authorities of Arena exchange saw about the active control for price formation during the trading to ensure the forming of the economically viable prices for all its participants.

All in all, 106 representatives of electric power (capacity) wholesale market entities took part in the exchange auctions at the floor of Arena exchange, and concluded exchange transactions for 13,600 mW in total volume.
