Micron Received Citation from Moscow Main Internal Affairs Department
OREANDA-NEWS. On 06 April 2009 JSC Micron announces that it has received a citation from the Police Directorate of the Moscow underground of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the City of Moscow. The security service of the company took part in the measures of search and suppression of activity of a criminal group, engaged in clandestine manufacture and distribution of tickets of the Moscow underground, as a result of which the officers of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Moscow have apprehended about 100 members of the aforementioned criminal group.
Joint activities of the Economic Crime Department, the Police Directorate of the Moscow underground of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the City of Moscow and the security services of JSC Micron have been allowed to apprehend the participants of the criminal group, search areas of storage and manufacturing area of counterfeit tickets “Ultralight” for the Moscow underground. The investigatory-operative procedures are ongoing.
In his letter of appreciation directed to Gennady Krasnikov, the General Director of JSC Micron, the Head of the Police Directorate of the Moscow underground of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the City of Moscow, N.N. Ivanova noted: “The Police Directorate expresses great appreciation to you, your company and your security service for the assistance rendered to our officers in the special activities directed towards the search of the criminal group which was engaged in the counterfeiting and illegal coding of Ultralight tickets for journeys via the Moscow underground”.
The tickets produced by JSC Micron completely correspond to ISO/IEC14443A international standard. "Besides the information which we record in the ticket on demand of the customer, each chip has a unique number, assigned to it in the plant at the moment of manufacturing this chip. This information is contained in the product, when we transfer it to the buyer and may be used in the safety system of the customer, - commented Andrey Golushko, Deputy General Director of Marketing of JSC Micron, - It is enough for our buyer to realize an effective system of safety and fight against the use of counterfeited tickets".
Today Micron is the largest Russian manufacturer of microelectronics. The plant turns out more than 500 types of products. The transport non-contact tickets produced on the base of RFID technologies are a popular, rapidly growing segment. In 2008, Micron delivered more than 250 million non-contact cards to the Moscow underground and other Russian companies.
The transport non-contact tickets “Ultralight” were put into operation in the Moscow underground on the1st of February 2007. In 2008, after a year of tests, the underground was completely converted to using the tickets produced by JSC Micron.
