OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 April 2009 was announced, that in March the Krasnodar branch of UTK hooked up the sixteen thousandth DISEL high-speed Internet subscriber in the city of Sochi.

The operator’s broadband Internet subscriber base in the resort city has been increasing by an average of 1,000 users per month.  The fourteen thousandth DISEL subscriber was connected in January 2009, and the fifteen thousandth subscriber in February.

As of January 1, 2009 UTK’s share of the Sochi high-speed Internet market stood at 59%, while the number of users rose by nearly 7,500 in 2008.

The number of DISEL-TV digital television subscribers in Sochi as of March 1, 2009 stood at 2,279 users.  DISEL-TV (broadcast using ADSL 2+ technology) offers 55 TV channels in digital broadcasting format. The service contains various options: video on demand (ordering movies and programs from an available video library), a virtual video recorder (for recording and storing TV broadcasts), and watching broadcasts from the start (viewing TV programs which have already been broadcast).
