OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2009. MIC ALMEDA, subsidiary of OJSC ROSNO-MS, has taken part in the extended meeting held by the Territorial Obligatory Medical Insurance Fund of Voronezh Region. This meeting, presided by Mr. E.V. Mezentsev, Executive Director of TFOMS, was dedicated to protection of citizens’ rights to affordable medical aid pursuant to the RF Law on Obligatory Medical Insurance, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

This event is opening a series of meetings on protection of rights of Voronezh Region residents to affordable medical aid.

Among the issues discussed at the meeting were: efficient and rational use of the OMI system budgetary funds; requirements to hospital and outpatient treatment; protection of rights of the insurants visiting medical institutions; promotion of healthy lifestyles and supplying the general public with information on their rights via mass media.

At this meeting, the medical insurance company ALMEDA was presented by the CEO, Mr. Alexander Elfimov. In his report, he covered a number of issues relating to the efforts made by insurance companies to provide affordable medical aid to the general public. Based on the experience gained by MIC ALMEDA in 2008, he reviewed the major indicators of medical aid quality and announced proposals for arrangement of affordable medical aid, improving its quality and preventing unfounded fees from being charged to patients.

Among the meeting participants were representatives of the Vorobyovsky, Buturlinovsky, Kalacheevsky, and Talovsky municipal districts of Voronezh Region, officials from TFOMS and managers of medical insurance companies.
