Management Committee Approves Gazprom’s Efforts
OREANDA-NEWS. April 2, 2009. The Management Committee approved the work implemented by Gazprom in the standardization and technical regulation sector.
The Strategic Development Department was tasked to prepare proposals on modifications to Gazprom’s Technical Regulation Concept as well as to the fundamental standards of the Company’s Standardization System with due regard to the changes in the technical regulation law and the Company’s operating track record in the standardization area.
Background:
In 2003 Gazprom started developing a corporate standardization system based on the principles set out in the Federal Law “On Technical Regulation” dated December 27, 2002.
In April 2005 for the purpose of ensuring the corporate standardization system operation Gazprom elaborated and adopted fundamental standards of the Company’s Standardization System:
STO Gazprom 1.0-2005 “Gazprom Standardization System. Basic Provisions”;
STO Gazprom 1.1-2005 “Gazprom Standardization System. Gazprom Standards.” Development, Approval, Registration, Modification and Cancellation Procedure”.
In February 2006 Gazprom’s Technical Regulation Concept was adopted with a view to arrange technical regulation activities and in pursuance of the above Procedure. The Concept includes the following key directions:
technical guidelines development – establishment, application and fulfillment of mandatory requirements for products including production operation, storage, shipments (transportation), marketing and disposal (Gazprom’s experts took part in developing 20 draft technical guidelines);
standardization – setting and voluntary application of requirements for products including production, operation, storage, shipments, marketing and disposal as well as for completion of works or rendering of services (the Company carries out standardization activities at the corporate, national, regional (European) and international levels; over 380 standards and recommendations of Gazprom approved);
conformity confirmation – regulation of relations in the area of conformity assessment (in addition to the obligatory certification at the state level, the product and service conformity with Gazprom’s specific requirements is assessed in the GAZPROMCERT voluntary certification system).
