OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2009. Moldova reduced export to the Odessa region by 82.7 percent in January 2009 against January 2008, - to US200 thousand.

According to the Ukrainian mass media, at the same time, Odessa region’s export to Moldova increased twice over that period of time – to US 5.2 million.

Moldova is the leading economic partner of the Odessa region among the CIS states. Alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, fruit, nuts, glass and goods made of it as well as vehicles were the major Moldovan exports to the Odessa region.

Moldova imported mostly oil and products of its distillation, ferrous metals and goods made of them, alcohol and soft drinks, canned vegetables and crops from the Odessa region.
