OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2009. SOGAZ Insurance Group has paid RUR 80 million in insurance indemnity to OJSC Concern Energoatom (former FSUE Concern Rosenergoatom), reported the press-centre of SOGAZ.

SOGAZ has paid its portion of the insurance indemnity for the damage inflicted on the concern as a result of a loss occurrence at the 5th power unit of Novovoronezhskaya NPP caused by insulation breakdown of the turbine generator’s stator winding due to a manufacturing faults.

The indemnity has been paid under a co-insurance contract for the property of OJSC Concern Energoatom concluded in cooperation with OJSC Atom Insurance Broker.

Novovoronezhskaya Nuclear Power Plant, an affiliate of OJSC Concern Energoatom, is one of Russia’s oldest nuclear power producers. Its output during over 40 years of operations has exceeded 395 billion KW/h.
