OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 March 2009 was announced, that in late February of this year, detectives of the Kiev Criminal Investigation Department informed Garant-Assistance, the company settling Oranta’s losses, that they found the Lexus LX 470 hijacked on August 31, 2008, and insured by Oranta under collateralized vehicle insurance contract. We should note that Oranta paid UAH 279, 000 as insurance compensation to the owner of the car last year, right after occurrence of the insured event.

The specialists of Garant-Assistance examined the car and did not detect any damages. With the concurrence of the relevant state authorities, the car was taken to a Garant-Assistance holding facility on February 27.

On March 2, 2009, the representatives of Garant-Assistance met the owner of the car, Oranta’s client. The parties agreed that after returning to Oranta of the compensation received earlier, the car would be passed to its legal owner.
