PM Tymoshenko Met with Representatives of IMF & World Bank
OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2009. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko hopes for further cooperation and maintaining partner-like relations with international financial organizations, notably with the IMF and World Bank.
She declared during her meeting with ambassadors of the Great Seven, the European Commission, representatives of the IMF and the World Bank in Ukraine.
“The Government highly estimates cooperation of Ukraine with the IMF and the World Bank as we consider it is a rather powerful stabilizing campaign for Ukraine and I consider we will act like partners, step by step,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
Yulia Tymoshenko is convinced such cooperation would contribute to establishment of financial sustainability within the state.
In addition, Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized today’s meeting is extremely significant, especially on the eve of voting for the second anti-recessionary package of draft laws in the Parliament. “Facing the global financial-economic crisis every state is suffering difficulties but for the states cooperating with the international organizations the impact of the crisis can be significantly mitigated”.
The Premier also expressed hopes the bail-out package of draft laws will be endorsed by the Parliament and will be supported not only by the Coalition’s factions but by the opposition either. According to her, the anti-recessionary package is a complex of laws, capable of making the financial system of the country much stronger.
At this, Yulia Tymoshenko urged the Government had made its part of work in this direction and tomorrow it is the Parliament that has its turn: “We hope tomorrow all the democratic sector of the Parliament will be voting unilaterally, with realizing well which challenges are set before the country and these challenges have to be overcome joining efforts, irrespective of difference of political views or competition among political forces”.
