Turkmen Commodity Fair Closed in Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2009. The first Turkmen commodity fair, which showcased the achievements of the textile industry and introduced rich and unique culture and modern economic and humanitarian achievements of the Turkmen nation to the people of Russia, closed in the Russian capital.
Timed to the Turkmen leader’s state visit to the Russian Federation and the Turkmen-Russian economic forum this large-scale action vividly illustrated successful realization of the agreements achieved at the top level and immediately implemented. Having anticipated the top-level talks the Turkmen fair in Moscow gave tone to the visit in whole spotlighting its constructive character and the willingness of two countries to dynamically develop multi-aspect cooperation at a qualitatively new and higher level, comprehensively intensify the political, economic and humanitarian contacts, enhance the ties of friendship and good neighbourliness between the peoples of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
In the welcoming statement to the participants and organizers of the forum presented at the opening ceremony President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on its significance for consistent development of the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation and declared traditional Turkmen-Russian partnership to be a key aspect of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy.
The leading textile enterprises affiliated with Turkmenhaly Joint Stock Corporation, which manufacture high-quality products of great demand on international markets and private businesses, took part in the commodity fair. The National Museum of Turkmenistan and the Museum of Turkmen Carpet presented their collections at the exhibition organized by the Chamber of Commerce and industry of Turkmenistan with the assistance of Expocentre Central Exhibition Complex.
During three days thousands of people and guests of the Russian capital visited the exposition that provided the information on the establishment, current development and perspectives of Turkmenistan’s textile industry as well as the traditions and modern trends in decorative and applied arts of the Turkmen nation. The unique museum exhibits and wonderful carpets and embroideries made by the Turkmen craftsmen, handmade silk fabrics, jewellery and works of decorative art amazing with fineness and subtlety, a variety of household articles and ancient national costumes were of particular interest to the visitors.
The high-quality colourfully illustrated printed goods produced by the State Publishing Service and printing houses told about the present day of the country. The visitors could buy souvenirs and decorative textiles. The potential clients got interested in a wide variety of the high-quality natural dyestuffs for carpets and fabrics manufactured by Argach wool-spinning mill.
In a word, the participants of the Turkmen fair managed to reproduce the spirit of Turkmenistan in the heart of Moscow with the unique images, colours and the atmosphere of hospitality and cordiality. Though, the Turkmen-Russian relations with the deep roots and remarkable traditions had never been broken the people of Russia discovered new Turkmenistan.
The major results of the Turkmen commodity fair were numerous meetings and talks held by the representatives of the Turkmen enterprises, organisations and entrepreneurs with the potential partners in Russia to specify the fields of mutual interest and the trends in possible cooperation and establish the contacts of Turkmen workers of decorative and applied art with their foreign counterparts.
The joint meeting of the Turkmen-Russian and the Russian-Turkmen business councils established under the aegis of the Chambers of Commerce and industry of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation focused on further development of mutually advantageous economic partnership facilitated this process.
Thus, the National Exhibition of Turkmenistan closed in Moscow having really contributed to further enhancing and expanding the business and cultural contacts and age-old fraternal ties between two fraternal peoples. The exceptionally high level of organization complied with the spirit and content of the actively developed Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental dialogue. The Turkmen commodity fair was of intense media interest. The Russian newspapers and television widely covered the exposition, especially Turkmen carpets – the property of the Turkmen nation that embodied its spiritual power and beauty. In a word, a debut in Moscow was a success!
