OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2009 was announced, that Generation Divisions of IES-Holding have started preparation to the spring flood period. In accordance with an order of President of the company Mikhail Slobodin the central flood committee was established for control of safety of equipment operation and reliable power companies' performance during the spring flood period. Upon the completion of preparatory works IES Divisions will provide to the Committee the Verification Certificate of Readiness of power plants to the spring flood.

In regions of IES-Holding operation (except for the Republic of Komi) the spring flood occurs in April. By its beginning Generation Urals Division, Generation Center Division and Volga Generation Division have to ensure the availability and readiness of necessary materials, machinery, equipment and transport to prompt liquidation of possible damages and incidents and to establish interaction with EMERCOM divisions regarding the provision of safety of hydraulic facilities and equipment. The duty scheduler will be set up for responsible managers and emergency crews will be on duty in potential danger areas.

 Preparation to the spring flood period is also conducted by Retail Division which includes gas distribution organizations of IES-Holding. At present the division develops and implements a range of organizational and technical measures for preparation of competent gas facilities to operation during the spring period with regard to risks related to gas pipelines damages caused by soil defrosting. This work is also controlled by the Central Committee of IES.
