OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2009 was announced, that modernization of turbo unit No 2 has been initiated at Sormovskaya Co-Generation Plant (CGP) (Nizhegorodskiy Branch of Generation Center Division of IES-Holding). Works are implemented within the framework of implementation of the investment project of IES-Holding on Sormovskaya CGP reconstruction.

The project of modernization of turbo unit No 2 at Sormovskaya CGP-2 includes replacement of high pressure cylinder that allows reduction of total cost per unit of heat and power production. In the result of modernization the capacity of turbo unit will increase by 5 MW to 65 MW. In the process of reconstruction the replacement of worn-out details will be made.

Input of two modernized turbo generators at Sormovskaya CGP is planned for the end of 2009. In the result of implementation of the investment project the installed capacity of Sormovskaya CGP will increase by 10 MW.

"In the conditions of the economic crisis IES-Holding consistently follows its obligations stipulated by the contracts on capacity provision. Realization of the project of Sormovskaya CGP reconstruction will allow to increase efficiency of the power plant operation and reliability of heat and power supply", - Executive Vice President of IES-Holding - Head of Generation Center Division Vyacheslav Kramarenko noted.

IES-Holding also implements investment projects on reconstruction of Igumnovskaya CGP and extension of Novogorkovskaya CGP capacity in the Nizhniy Novgorod Region.
