Russia features prominently in the export plans for many countries around the world and, to support their strategy, ten countries presented national group stands. Visitors numbered 80,100, 97% of whom were trade visitors.
The continued growth of the event is a testament to its reputation and effectiveness. Compared to 2008, like-for-like sales are up by 2% and over 80,000 m² of the exhibition’s floor space has already been sold. Darryl Pawsey, Director for the Build & Interiors Division at ITE, highlights the significance of this development, “Our exhibitors are giving a clear indication of their expectations for the Russian market over the next few years. The latest market figures show a predicted increase of more than 7% in Russia’s GDP, which is an extremely positive result compared to most major world economies”.
MosBuild is the collective name for a series of six exhibitions that focus on specific parts of the industry. The Buildex and Cersanex exhibitions take place in Expocentr and cover building materials and equipment, hardware and tools, sanitary ware and ceramic products. At the same time, Crocus Expo hosts MosInteriors, CountryLiving, Stonex and WinTec Expo, which demonstrate interior decorations, country homes, gardens and outdoor equipment, stone, doors and window technologies. The exhibitions are further segmented into specific product groups to enable visitors to find their way easily around this huge exhibition.
Pawsey looks forward to the coming exhibition, “MosBuild continues to be the focal point for business in the industry. The event has wide appeal; from companies who are new to the market and are looking for distributors to those who are already well established in Russia and are looking to strengthen their presence, arrange meetings with clients and promote their product range. With over 90% of the event already sold, we are confident that the 2009 event will be another great success!”
