OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 March 2009 was announced, that in meeting of Lietuvos Energija AB Management Board a resolution was reached to reduce salaries of Management Board members by 15 per cent.

Such resolution resulted in the attempt to enhance the effectiveness of the company business with respect to the ongoing economic recession and electricity sales reduction”, - says Mr.Darius Masionis, Chairman of the Board.  According to him, this January the high voltage power grid for the domestic needs transmitted nearly 9 per cent lower volumes of electricity than during the respective period in 2008.

The volume of electricity, transmitted through the high voltage power grid by Lietuvos Energija AB in January 2009 accounted for 1029,8 GWh, i.e. 8.9 per cent less than in January 2008 when the volume of electricity, transmitted through the high voltage power grid, was 1130.4 GWh. Such reduction in electricity demand is subject to business downsizing of industrial consumers.
