OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2009. The National Bank has amended the regulation "On the mechanism of purchase of the foreign currency by the residents-legal entities".

Amendments were adopted taking into account current situation at the domestic currency market. According to the amendments, individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities on the basis of patent and in professional lawyer and notary activities on the basis of the relevant license, as well as diplomatic mission, consulates and other official representations of Moldova abroad, have the right to buy foreign currency for leis in accordance with the Law on Currency Regulation and the Rules on the currency regulation at the territory of Moldova.

In particular, these are current currency transactions; permitted capital foreign currency transactions, payments / transfers abroad in favor of residents in cases permitted by the law, payments / transfers to the territory of Moldova in favor of other residents or non-residents, management of liquidity and currency risks; travel expenses; repayment of the bank loans in foreign currency.

According to the amendments, foreign currency at the bank accounts of the residents-legal entities, purchased for Moldovan leis before validation of these amendments, can not be transferred to other accounts of the same entities.
