OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2009. Some agricultural companies of the Gomel oblast started the spring crops sowing campaign on March 19.

The first 100 hectares were sown in the Kalinkovichi and Bragin regions on March 19. In the near two or three days all southern regions of the oblast will start the sowing campaign. It will take ten working days to complete the spring crops sowing. The companies have enough fuel, high-quality seeds and necessary equipment. This year the agricultural companies of the Gomel oblast are going to purchase 350 tractors MTZ-3022 and MTZ-2022 and 250 locally-made wide-cut combined tillers.

The sowing area will make up 360,000 hectares in the Gomel oblast this year. Grain-crops including corn will be sown on the 196,000-hectare area.
