OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 March 2009 was announced, that the Board of Directors of CenterTelecom OJSC at the meeting held today approved the termination of powers of its Chairman Alexander Kiselev and elected Sergei Kuznetsov the company’s new Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Sergei Kuznetsov was born on Dec. 25, 1953 in Rustavi, Georgian Republic, USSR. In 1981 he graduated from North-West Polytechnic Institute specializing in Computer Science. Later he studied at Columbia Business School, New York, and subsequently earned an MBA degree at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, Durham, NC. From 1975-1992 he worked at the Leningrad City Telephone Network in a variety of posts, from electrician at the Petrograd Telephone Center to Chief Engineer at the Nekrasovsky Telephone Center. From 1992 -1994 he was General Director of Delta Telecom СJSC. In 1995 Mr. Kuznetsov was appointed General Director of Telecominvest OJSC. In 1998 he headed PeterStar CJSC as General Director. From 2001-2003 he was General Director and Chairman of the Managing Board of Rostelecom OJSC. From 2003-2004 Mr. Kuznetsov was General Director and Chairman of the Managing Board of North-West Telecom OJSC. From 2004-2006 he was a Member of the Managing Board, First Deputy Director, Svyazinvest OJSC. Currently Mr. Kuznetsov, an independent director and member of the National Register of Independent Directors maintained by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, is a member of the boards of directors of a number of major Russian companies including CenterTelecom OJSC, Rostelecom OJSC, VolgaTelecom OJSC, Sibirtelecom OJSC and BaltAvtoPoisk CJSC.
