OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2009. North-Western Bureau branch of OJSC Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation paid OJSC “Insurance Company of Gas Industry” (SOGaz) USD 2.03mln  for the accident in one of the gas processing enterprises of CJSC Yamburggazdobycha. Risk was accepted under obligatory property reinsurance contract.  

The event took place on 29 August, 2007 in one of the enterprises of OJSC Gazprom affiliated company Yamburggazdobycha, located in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area. Depressurization in the gas drying shop resulted in gas blowout followed by the fire and successive shots. As a result of the accident, factory buildings and equipment were damaged. Total insurance indemnity under OJSC SOGaz insurance contract amounted near USD 20mln.

On 12 March, 2009 after receipt of loss portfolio Transsiberian Re paid USD 2.03mln for part of the loss, confirmed by Surveyor’s intermediary report. The full company’s payment will be determined after receipt of full loss portfolio.
