OREANDA-NEWS. On March 20, 2009 Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria took part in the discussion dedicated to financial-economic situation in Ukraine. The event, held in the format of a working lunch, was organized by Yalta European Strategy (YES).

The meeting’s participants addressed the state and prospects of the development of cooperation of Ukraine with international financial institutions, in particular the International Monetary Fund.
Hryhoriy Nemyria stressed the Government of Ukraine had been acting in the direction of overcoming the fallouts of the global financial crisis in Ukraine.

“I hope the IMF mission will resume negotiations with Ukraine within nearest time, all contradictory issues be settled, and we will obtain the second tranche, which will be the proof of trust in Ukraine. It will become our successful step and, undoubtedly, will be followed by other steps,” Hryhoriy Nemyria emphasized.

Participating in the discussion were also IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Max Alier and Vice President of the European Parliament Marek Siwiec.

During the meeting presentation of research of Yalta European Strategy (YES) into financial and economic situation in Ukraine also took place.

As reported earlier, on March 18-22 Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria is staying with a working visit to Brussels. Hryhoriy Nemyria will take the floor during 2009 Brussels Forum and hold a series of bilateral meetings, in particular with President of the World Bank Robert Zoellick, President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pottering, Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic A.Vondra and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Carl Bildt.
