Moscow Structures Will Become Disabled-Friendly
OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 March 2009 was announced, that the objects within Moscow’s urban and social infrastructure are to be adapted for physically challenged people relying on the domestic and international experience.
According to City Hall’s decree signed by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov on February 17, Moskomarkhitektura (Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development) is in charge of providing the development of the section “Measures aimed at providing disable access” in the projects of preschools, schools and sports centres.
Moskomarkhitektura jointly with Social Security Department of Moscow is also to study the domestic and international experience for the purpose of improving the legislative acts and other legal documents which set the requirements relating to disabled access to the urban objects.
