OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 March 2009 was announced, that in order to reduce the risk of emergencies IDGC of Centre, JSC has started preparation for accident-free work of the branches during the approaching 2009 storm season. While preparing for the storm season workers take into account analysis of infringements in the work of the grid system equipment in similar periods.

Workers will pay special attention to checks and tests of means of individual protection from overvoltage of equipment at substations, replacement at high-voltage lines of broken isolators, grounding of ground wire in planned points and completeness of grounding conductors at supports, equipment, facilities and buildings.

Before coming of the storm period power workers will check preparation for work of devices of defence from overvoltage at distribution facilities and electricity transmission lines in all branches, strengthen protection from overvoltage of electricity transmission line parts located in the storm-stricken areas. Each branch of IDGC of Centre, JSC will have extraordinary seminars and training of operating personnel on detection of broken parts of overhead lines and actions during thunder storms.
