OREANDA-NEWS. On March 16, 2009 Referred to publications on the website of the Regions Party the Pension Fund of Ukraine announced:

1. There are no delays in financing and payment of pensions by this time. As of March 12 of the current year pensions and pecuniary aid have been financed to the tune of UAH 8, 196.7 million which is 61.8% of the monthly sum of pension payments.

In particular, for the pensions paid through post offices UAH 4, 230.8 million have been transferred, which ensures payments to 4, 781.1 thousand of pensioners.

To the bank branches authorized to conduct payment of pensions UAH 2, 872.4 million have been transferred, which ensures payments to 2, 968.8 thousand of pensioners.

So, pension reimbursement has been financed up to March 14 inclusive. 

In all the regions, including those enumerated in the statement of the Regions Party, the pensions on the date of March 12 have been paid in full due to the fixed schedules.

2. The Pension Fund of Ukraine will maintain monitoring of funds directed to payments of pensions. It means the funds will be transferred only to those financial establishments that are to guarantee their timely payments to the beneficiaries. That’s why with a decision of interdepartmental commission cooperation with the bank branches, through which the pensions failed to be paid timely or in full amount because of the complicated financial state of these institutions, has been terminated.

Canceling the contracts with “problem banks” (which has taken place before) has in no way influenced the terms of pension payments and, what is more, not connected with financial state of the Pension Fund.

All the pensioners who received the pensions in the mentioned banks continue receiving due payments on the same days in other banks or in post offices.

The Pension Fund protects interests of the pensioners and will further protect them in all cases, including in relations with the banks that don’t secure the rights of beneficiaries and violate the assumed liabilities. In this activity we are open and ask to cooperation everyone who isn’t indifferent to the fates of pensioners.

At the same time, we are against any groundless, unproved statements and sayings, especially when they refer to one third of the population of the state.

3. The Pension Fund of Ukraine declares payment of pensions will be held in due time and in full amount.
