OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2009. The 20th meeting of the operational office for the construction of the 4th of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant took place in Udomlia Mar 12 2009. Deputy Director of Atomenergoprom OJSC Alexander Polushkin, Deputy Director for Capital construction of Kalinin NPP Viktor Suchkov, representatives of the general contractor o the project, Atomenergoproekt, and sub-contractor organizations took part in the meeting.

The key topic of the meeting was the results of the work in Feb 2009 and the tasks for Mar 2009 and the second quarter of 2009. One of the key events of Feb 2009 was the completion of the mounting of the second layer of the cylindrical part of the reactor containment. Mar 5 the constructors mounted the last 12 section thereby raising the containment to the level +51.

Polushkin said that Kalinin-4 was one of our best organized and most dynamic construction projects. “Last year we consolidated our capacities, concluded contracts with sub-contractor organizations, distributed the work among them and build necessary infrastructure,” Polushkin said.
