IES-Holding Proceeds with Implementation of Perm CGP-6 Reconstruction
OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 March 2009 was announced, that IES-Holding implements one of the first priority investment projects - power plant reconstruction at Perm CGP-6. In accordance with the decision of the Board of Directors of TGC-9 as of January this year 5.385 billion rubles will be directed to further implementation of the investment project in 2009. A 120 MW combined cycle unit will be installed in a separate facility that will increase power generation more than threefold. Simultaneously with the combined cycle unit construction two steam boilers E-160 will be installed at Perm CGP-6 which will operate conjointly with the new Siemens turbo set. One of the boilers has been already installed and its start up is planned at an early date. The second boiler is designed.
The installation of automated laboratory facilities for steam boilers was completed the day before. The automated laboratory has been designed for water chemical processes control and its capacity allows for servicing the two boilers at the same time.
The new laboratory has state-of-the-art analytical control and metering instruments. The automated equipment twenty-four-hours conducts on-line monitoring of steam, feed water of the boiler, liquid acidity and electroconductivity and availability of salts. At that in case of approximation of water-chemical indicators to the critical point the system automatically gives signals about possible problem to the master control panel of the boiler and than a dispatcher passes the information to chemical facility experts.
One of the major advantages of the automated laboratory facility is the significant improvement of working conditions of employees of the laboratory facility of the plant. It is not necessary to take water samples from the boiler; the water is transported for expertise by special impulse path straight to the laboratory.
On-line and exact control of water-chemical processes is necessary for reliable operation of heat engineering equipment. If concentration of noxious substance in the feed water of the boiler will exceed acceptance limits the sediments on heating surfaces may cause its breaks. The water-chemical process on-line monitoring helps to save significant funds and to direct them to repair and prophylactic washing of boiler components; to increase equipment lifespan. The next stage of modernization of chemical facilities at Perm CGP-6 will be complete reconstruction of the chemical water treatment system.
