PwC Signs Agreement of Cooperation with Krasnodar Region Government
OREANDA-NEWS. On March 10, 2009 Alexander Tkachev, head of the Krasnodar Region administration, and Peter Gerendasi, managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Russia (PwC), signed an agreement of cooperation on actions designed to facilitate the development of a favourable economic, investment and social environment in the region, reported the press-centre of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Such actions are expected to affect all industries in the Krasnodar Region, including priority industries such as agriculture, energy & utilities, resorts and tourism, commercial real estate, and transportation including overseas shipments.
Alexander Tkachev, head of the Krasnodar Region administration, said:
“Today governments are taking steps to stabilise national economies around the world. Countries tend to coordinate their efforts to resist the crisis together. This cooperation agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers will facilitate the development of Krasnodar Region’s audit and consulting market as well as a stock market. It will also help increase investments in the region’s economy and enhance business efficiency.”
Peter Gerendasi stated that PricewaterhouseCoopers in Russia will provide audit and consulting services to the Krasnodar Region administration and companies, advise them on developing a strategy for the social and economic development of the region, provide information on economic events in Russia and abroad, and ensure the region's participation in them.
Mr. Gerendasi said:
“The goal of our cooperation is to develop and implement programmes designed to facilitate the region’s social and economic development, to enhance the competiveness of companies in the region and identify their investment needs and possible approaches to fund raising.
“We want to play our part in the region’s economic development supporting its efforts to attract investments at events around the world and to provide on-going support to domestic and foreign companies investing in the region.”
PwC plans to develop educational programmes for young specialists in the region. Graduates of Krasnodar Region universities (industry experts) will have the opportunity to participate in internships at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Russia.
