OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2009. The International Finance Corporation Central Asia Corporate Governance Project, which is aimed to improve the corporate governance practices in Kyrgyz joint - stock companies (JSC), including commercial bank, is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its Pilot Program, reported the press-centre of IBC.

The goal of the Pilot Program consists of carrying out comprehensive assessment of existing corporate governance practices in joint-stock companies and assisting them in corporate governance improvement in accordance with best international practices in order to enhance their management efficiency and increase their investment attractiveness.

Companies and banks will be selected based up on investment potential and financial promise, commitment to reform, likelihood for success and other relevant criteria.

The selected companies and banks will receive within the Pilot Program the following services:

An assessment of their corporate governance practices

Consultations on improving corporate governance, including structures and relationships between boards management and shareholders

Assistance in revising corporate documents to bring them in line with best practices

Assistance in preparing transparent and meaningful financial reports
 
Eligibility criteria
 
Subject to IFC’s detailed selection criteria, any Kyrgyz joint-stock company or bank which is interested in improving corporate governance practices may apply for participation in Pilot Program.
