OREANDA-NEWS. On 12 March 2009 OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), a major machine building holding company with assets located in Russia and the Czech Republic, reported that IZ-KARTEX, a part of OMZ Group, has begun shipping two EKG-10 shovels for China’s Kholinkhe open pit coal mine. The USD5 million contract was concluded in September 2008.

In March IZ-KARTEX plans to supply the Chinese customer with two EKG-12 shovels with 16.5-cubic meter buckets for over ?7 million. The customer expects to consider further cooperation with IZ-KARTEX after the supplied shovels are put into operation.

Successful implementation of the contract will allow IZ-KARTEX to enter the promising the Chinese market for mining equipment.
