OREANDA-NEWS. On 12 March 2009 was announced, that X5 Retail Group N.V., Russia’s largest retail company, officially unveiled Moscow’s first premium supermarket under the brand name of Zelyonyy Perekryostok.

The store is located on Udaltsova Street, southern Moscow. It has a wide range of goods that includes 12,000 items. The range of goods is to be expanded in the future.

Zelyonyy Perekryostok is to operate within the price segment similar to Sedmoy Kontinent and Azbuka Vkusa retail chains.

X5 CEO Lev Khasis noted earlier that a couple of such supermarkets were to be opened in Moscow during 2009. According to the official, it is not a mass project.

At the same time Mr Khasis added that Zelyonyy Perekryostok opened in Rostov-on-Don the year before became a successful project.
