OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2009. The works dealing with the prospecting for diamond pipes have been organized in the Gomel region in 2009.

The prospecting for diamond fields in Belarus is carried out on the base of the special map of the potential diamondiferous areas. “The Gomel region is one of the most promising for diamond fields prospecting,” the specialist noted.

The prospecting for diamond fields is foreseen by the Belarus state programme of exploration work on developing the mineral resources base for 2006-2010 and for the period till 2020. The document supposes the further development of the fuel and energy potential of the country; the industrial development of new deposits of construction materials and other kinds of nonmetallic feed; the regional geological study of Belarus’ underground resources.

Belgeologia carries out mineral survey, governmental accounting and monitoring of mineral resources. Belgeologia jointly with the geology department of the Belarusian Nature Ministry carry out the prospective planning of geological exploration.
