Minsk Opened Atomexpo Belarus 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2009. “This exhibition is a landmark event as power engineering can help our economy to effectively develop,” Minister of Energy of Belarus Alexander Ozerets said while opening Atomexpo Belarus 2009 international specialized exhibition in Minsk. “We need to build a modern and safe nuclear power plant. That’s mostly why we have decided to organize this exhibition.”
First Vice President of Atomstroyexport CSJC Alexander Glukhov said: “We hope that next year we will be discussing a specific project for building a nuclear power plant in the territory of Belarus. We hope that Belarus will not stop at two reactors,” Glukhov said wishing the country to build whole nuclear energy complexes in the coming decades.
Atomexpo Belarus 2009 international specialized exhibition has been organized by the Ministry of Energy and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with the support of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and Atomenergoprom OJSC. The key objectives of the exhibition are to present the most advanced technologies in the field of engineering, construction and safe operation of nuclear power plants and to stimulate scientific research ad training of specialists in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy in Belarus.
