Uzbektelecom Shares Its Plans on Modernization
OREANDA-NEWS. Uzbektelecom, national telecommunication operator of Uzbekistan, held a press-conference on 9th March 2009 dedicated to current state and perspectives of development of telecommunication in Uzbekistan.
The company also shared its plans on modernization, expansion and development of telecommunication network in 2009, introduction of new services and priority tasks, etc.
Capacity of the automatic telephone system (ATS) reached 2.099 million numbers and level of digitalization of ATS made up 88.8%.
Capacity of the international internet channel made up 825 Mbit per second due to wide-scale work.
The work on reconstruction and modernization of 72 rural analogue telephone stations in Andijan, Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Tashkent and other regions were started.
Uzbektelecom officials also shared its plans on development of telecommunication sphere of Uzbekistan. The company will work on improving quality of services and modernization of communication network in rural areas, as well as expansion of the volume of services.
