The summit taking place on 09-11 March in Royal Lancaster Hotel London is one of the biggest forums on investment and business in Ukraine. The event was attended by more than 600 delegates including businessmen, government officials and representatives of the Ukrainian and international investment community.

SCM became a partner of the Fifth Annual Ukrainian Investment Summit, because the company, as the biggest national investor, believes that building a positive profile of our country in the eyes of the global investment community is a vital objective.

"This year the summit takes place is a challenging for Ukraine time – the global crisis. Because of it, the Ukrainian economy has faced a number of problems and now is in a turbulent state", said Mr Mendoza-Wilson. "Therefore, the chance to meet the international investors, analysts and bankers is extremely important for us now – to meet and tell them about the challenges the Ukrainian business and the national economy are facing, about our actions to overcome them an our short-term strategy".

Mr Mendoza-Wilson urged the international investment community and big national business to consolidate efforts to overcome the effects of the global economic and financial crises in Ukraine in particularly, as well as start looking for new investment opportunities in Ukraine.

"Every crisis has its end. So we should think today not only about addressing the present problems, but also carefully consider the medium-term outlooks of development of the economy and business, as well as discuss the opportunities to emerge after the crisis is over", added Mr Mendoza-Wilson. "The short-term strategy of SCM is based on three major elements: we are committed to ensuring strong liquidity, ready to fast changes and seeking for new opportunities for further growth".
