ROSNO Compensates Shortage of Sugar Beet Crops in Bashkortostan
OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2009. ROSNO’s branch in Ufa has finished paying the insurance compensation for the sugar beet crops damaged last spring to Chishmyagroinvest Ltd., one of the agricultural enterprises of the largest Russian agricultural holding Razgulyai. The aggregate amount of insurance compensation totaled 19,335,207 roubles, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
The concluded insurance contract protected the farm’s crops (sugar beet, spring barley, and spring wheat) with the total area of 9,229 ha against destruction or damage (shortage).
The droughty agrometeorological conditions prevailing in this region in April and May of the previous year have produced a negative impact on the germination, growth and development of the sugar beet seeds. As a result, the crop capacity of the Gerakl grade sugar beet fields of Chishmyagroinvest turned to be almost two and a half times lower than expected. This shortage of crops has been compensated by ROSNO.
