Industrial Output in Moldova Decreased by 25,1%
OREANDA-NEWS. March 06, 2009. In January 2009, industrial output in Moldova has decreased by 25,1% as compared to the same period of the last year and by 43,6% as compared to December 2008 – CIS statistical committee.
It is reported that in January 2009 average decline in industrial output in CIS countries amounted to 16% as compared with January of the last year (5% up as compared with January 2008). As compared with January 2008, industrial growth was registered only in Belarus – by 1,2% (0,8% down as compared with December 2008).
The largest decline in the industrial output was registered in Ukraine - by 34.1% (16,1% down as compared with December 2008). Industrial output in Russia has decreased by 16% (19,9% down as compared to December 2008), in Kyrgyzstan – by 14,6% (46,7% down), Armenia - 6,5% ( 23.5% down), Azerbaijan - 5,1% ( 0,5% up as compared with December 2008), Tajikistan - 5% (18% down) and Kazakhstan - 1,8% (10,4% down).
There is no data on Georgia.
