OREANDA-NEWS. March 6, 2009. Rector of Voronezh State University Vladimir Titov and Director General of Atomexpo company Nikolay Doronin concluded a cooperation agreement.

This document has officially confirmed that the biggest university of Chernozemye region and the Information Center for Nuclear Energy, opened in Voronezh Jan 29 2009, are consolidating their efforts to educate students and schoolchildren in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Vice Principal of Voronezh State University Yelena Ischenko says that the university is going to help the center to attract schoolchildren: “Such excursions may significantly increase the percentage of schoolchildren wishing to get education in the fields related to nuclear energy. The demand for such specialists in Voronezh region will grow especially when we build Novovoronezh NPP-2.”

“This agreement reflects the intention of the administration of Voronezh State University to help the Center to organize excursions for teachers and students. In fact, the Center is open to all people wishing to learn more about nuclear energy. The multimedia shows and special events organized by the Center are free of charge,” says Director of the Information Center for Nuclear Energy Yulia Kuznetsova.

The key product of the Center is 45-minute multimedia film – a virtual show “The World of Nuclear Energy.” The center also has programs on astronomy, geography and national studies in Russian and English.

The Center is also planning to sign such agreements with other universities of the region.
